The Vagabond Tour 2024

DOMINIC MILLER

Vagabond”  TOUR 2024

Dominic Miller, wider known as Sting’s trusty side-kick guitarist, is also a very successful solo artist having released 12 albums under his own name. Bandleader Miller enjoys an enviable reputation both in the professional world of music and amongst music fans everywhere.

Born in Buenos Aires to an American father and a Irish mother he studied guitar at Boston's prestigious Berklee College and the London Guildhall School of Music. He’s been a sought after session musician since the late 80s and his list of  engagements defy categorisation but includes collaborations with Phil Collins, The Chieftains, Eddi Reader, Katie Melua, Bryan Adams, Paul Young, Nigel Kennedy, Peter Gabriel, and Tina Turner, to name a few. Dominic Miller has been involved in every Sting album since the 1991 album "The Soul Cages" and performed over a thousand concerts with the former "Police" singer as well as co-written hit songs such as "Shape Of My Heart" and “La Belle Dame sans regrets”.

Now with his new album "Vagabond" he will be adding another highlight to his solo discography.  Recorded at studio “La Buissonne” in the South of France with world-class musicians – Ziv Ravitz on drums, Nicolas Fiszman on bass and  Jacob Karlzon on piano, he has crafted a fascinating sound mixture of Jazz, Pop, Acoustic Folk, Contemporary Classical and Latin elements. “Vagabond” combines all those styles producing something entirely new. An appropriate genre term for such a symbiosis doesn’t yet exist but we feel it soon will.

Dominic Miller will be touring this fascinating line-up in 2024.

Dominic Miller Songbook

Dominic Miller has been known as Sting's "right and left hand" on the guitar for almost 30 years - including co-writing "Shape of My Heart", "La Belle Dame Sans Regrets" and other world hits.

Born in Argentina to an American father and Irish mother, he lived and studied mostly in the US and England in his younger years. Today, Miller is based in France but has toured the world as a musician for more than three decades.

When not playing guitar for Sting and a host of other pop greats in the studio and on tour, Miller works on his own instrumental albums, collaborating with jazz and folk musicians from a wide variety of countries and traditions. The guitarist's international mindset was only deepened by a decade-long world tour with Paul Simon, The Chieftains, Plácido Domingo and, above all, Sting.

"I've been influenced by Sting's creative sense of harmony and how he shapes songs," says Miller. "I try to do the same by creating a narrative with instrumental music that I treat and arrange as songs, with verses, choruses and bridges. I absorbed a lot from him about concept and arrangement, as well as how to tell a story precisely."

Sting writes of Miller, his musical companion:

"Whenever Dominic plays guitar, he creates colours, a whole spectrum of emotions, a sound architecture in which silence and sound have equal place. He transports the spirit to higher spheres."

This songbook for guitar comprises 17 selected pieces by the guitarist, including four of his joint works with Sting. The songs are clearly arranged for classical guitar with guitar TABs. In addition, a detailed foreword by the guitarist and a dedication by Sting are included. Several selected portraits complete this edition of sheet music.

Sting Announces New Album ‘My Songs’ To Be Released 24 May...

Sting has announced ‘My Songs’, a new album comprised of the 17-time Grammy Award winner’s most celebrated hits from his unparalleled career, each reshaped and reimagined for 2019. ‘My Songs’ will be released on 24 May in multiple formats including a deluxe edition featuring bonus content (see below for track listings).

Speaking on his approach to the album, Sting says: “‘My Songs’ is my life in songs. Some of them reconstructed, some of them refitted, some of them reframed, but all of them with a contemporary focus.”

‘My Songs’ boasts modernized recordings, faithful to the original arrangements and celebrates Sting’s illustrious musical career as one of the world’s most distinctive and influential artists. Since forming The Police in 1977 with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, Sting has evolved into one of the world’s most iconic artists, selling 100 million records and earning the highest accolades along the way. Fans can expect to hear Sting’s own fresh approach to hits including “Englishman In New York,” “Fields Of Gold,” “Shape Of My Heart,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Roxanne,” “Message In A Bottle” and many more.

The album will also be accompanied by new liner notes written by Sting, in which he shares the personal stories behind each song and provides insight into how some of the most enduring songs of all time were written.

Never one to stand still, in the summer of 2018, following his collaborative album release with Shaggy - the Grammy Award-winning chart-topping record ‘44/876’ – the iconic duo launched a world tour through North America, South America, Eastern Europe and this year will extend to the UK for a series of intimate shows from May 19th - 25th. These collaborative performances will be followed by Sting’s own, solo ‘My Songs’ tour this summer - a dynamic show featuring the most beloved songs written by Sting spanning his prolific career, accompanied by an electric, rock ensemble. Tour itinerary and tickets can be found at www.sting.com.

‘My Songs’ was produced and A&R’d by Martin Kierszenbaum (Sting, Lady Gaga, Robyn), Dave Audé (Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez) and Jerry Fuentes (The Last Bandoleros). The album was mixed by Robert Orton (Lana Del Rey, Mumford & Sons) and engineered by Tony Lake (Sting, Shaggy).

‘My Songs’ will be released on CD and vinyl, and a deluxe edition will be available including live recordings of ‘Synchronicity II’, ‘Next To You’, ‘Spirits In the Material World’ and ‘Fragile’. An exclusive edition for Japan will also feature a live recording of ‘I Can’t Stop Thinking About You’, and an exclusive for France is set to include an extended version of ‘Desert Rose’.
